Who are the Plainville Lions?
The Plainville Lions Club was officially charted in 1946 with a strong community service orientation – this practical outlook focused on helping people in our local community has not changed over the years. It is a proud tradition that we strive to build on year after year.
This year we will celebrate 70 years of service to our community and beyond.
We hold the following events within our town:
- Annual Fall Festival
- Annual Pancake Breakfast
- Thanksgiving Baskets
- Christmas Baskets
- Senior Roast beef Dinner
Lions are men and women who volunteer their time to humanitarian causes. Founded in 1917, the association’s motto is “We Serve.”
It is estimated that, worldwide, each year Lions clubs donate approximately US$449 million and 76 million hours, which is equivalent to more than 31,000 people working full time for a year.
